One love
You are loved. No matter where you are in life, you are loved, forgiven, and desired more then we can understand. We could spend our whole lives searching for something, anything to fill up an emptiness that controls us. Its like you've been trying to fill it with everything and anything around you that you know isn't right. For some reason, we are never satisfied. Why? Because it is never enough. There is however someone that can fill that emptiness, the constant uneasiness in life.
You are loved by God. No matter what you have done, God loves you just the same, and desires to have a relationship with you. God loves us with this radical and transforming love that will begin to fill up that emptiness. God showed his love through his own son, Jesus, whom he sent to live this perfect life and die for us in love. Jesus is life; he lived life to die a painful, humiliating death for you. His life was a ransom, a payment for our mistakes.
God calls us to truly live life to the fullest, enjoying each moment in relation with Him. This isn't so much a religion my friends, its a relationship. Its a relationship that over time has gotten confused with rules, regulations, and standards. The focus is that you begin to truly understand these three simple words, YOU ARE LOVED. And in response, if you desire to become connected with that love, you take a moment to voice your mind to God, allowing Him to come into relation with you.

Jesus is the answer to the questions most people arent asking, spoken by Mike Pilavachi, this one little, un-emphasized sentence stuck with me and really directed the purpose and theory behind You Are Loved. Realization began to hit, being a part of the body of Christ, going to church week in and week out, we are constantly encouraged to witness, or share Christ with others. Well, with great hopes and encouragement, I tried, but for me and most my peers in high school, this became a discouraging task that felt like a chore which would never end. I began to realize, that as we shared Christ to non-believers, many of us had just been slamming God into lives as the answer to a question that these people hadnt yet began asking. The reality was that our discouragement led us to sharing God with fewer people each week. And as I stated earlier, the reason witnessing has become hard among a falling world is because the lost people are not asking the questions to which we as believers have the answers.
With that in mind, I began You Are Loved my senior year of high school, December 2006. It only goes to show how God can use anyone, and everyone from all paths of life to do something, anything for that matter. Through several individuals and organizations support, donations allowed You Are Loved to get its start. To this date, over 40,000 pins have been created, most of which have been distributed. I feel Gods plan is simple, yet with great purpose. The plan is to freely spread pins to people from all walks and regions of life. Anyone can get three pins mailed to them through our web site, yet spreading larger quantities has come through the donations of individuals with big hearts and those who can afford to purchase them (With intent to give away freely). Through our online ordering, various groups and people have continued to help spread this message by purchasing pins for others. Donations and pin purchases go towards supporting our 3 Free deal online, and many other organizations You Are Loved has partnered with. With everything above in mind, God continues to ignite these purposes as I (Dave) travel to speak with various groups, bring pins, a message and challenge. My challenge begins with getting others to do something, like beginning to spread a simple pin with a great message. Speaking to groups everywhere, You Are Loved takes a unique form in connecting churches to move forward in working together with a common goal as part of the body of Christ. My goal through this ministry is to help others put actions to their faith; enabling them to begin conversations with others in sharing who Christ is, and what He has to offer.
In closing, its important to realize one thing; these pins dont actually love anyone. We as Gods people are called to love everyone. The purpose of these pins are to help raise questions and conversations in a non threatening way. At the same time however, for many, these pins become a real, everyday reminder that we are called to tangibly love people. So allow your pin to not only raise questions, but to also become a reminder that since we were first loved by God, we too should love others (1 John 4:19).
about the founder
Dave Navarra, founder of You Are Loved in late 2006, developed this ministry right in the midst of his senior year of high school. At a young age, Dave sought out wisdom of the right people to help launch this organization. And to his surprise, this organization would soon have an effect on thousands of people worldwide. While his intentions were local, You Are Loved quickly exploded beyond his hometown. Since 2006, Dave has directed and ran this not-for-profit organization, growing its influence and expanding its ideals. Daves life goal has been to help people understand how simply loved they are. His hope is that in the process of discovering love, that people would discover the greatest love of all, that of Jesus Christ. Speaking to groups locally and afar, Dave has loved to take the purpose of You Are Loved to new places and hopes to continue to spread his passion. However, far before Dave launched You Are Loved, he began to walk towards the path God was calling him to; youth ministry. After various ministry internships in high school and college, Dave is now preparing to start full-time ministry. Dave loves the opportunity to passionately engage students with the gospel, helping them to see how their lives intersect with the scriptures. And with that, he loves to inspire and motivate students to respond accordingly. Living in Chico, CA, Dave is encouraged and supported by his fiancée, Katie, and their families living in the Bay Area.
And now, out of the overflow of everything God has done in his life, Dave has devoted himself to furthering the message and intentions of Christ, specifically to the youth of this world, earnestly wanting to learn more as he goes along the journey.

I just read about you in Ignite magazine, I went to the website, and I can't tell you what a wonderful thing it is that you are doing! People really need to know God's love more than ever, and the most awesome thing about that love...IT NEVER ENDS! My prayer request is simply that I will make friends in my town. I moved last year and so far I have no close friends to call my own because I've been brutally misunderstood. Some of the people at my new church think I am crazy because I dance during worship and I do everything in my will power to try to make an impact in my community. The good news is that my pastor doesn't think I am crazy and he told me to keep dancing. It's just been kind of hard for me starting a new church because I came from Milpitas after ten years and then I moved to Tracy and the two towns are two different worlds as far as I am concerned. Ever since I started reading the magazine, Ignite Your Faith, I have had great dreams of ordering a bunch of the You are Loved buttons, Passing them out to people in my city and helping them out with whatever like a real missionary. I will do it even if no one helps me because thatâs how dedicated of showing others they are truly loved by God I am, but I do wish that I wasn't so misunderstood.

Thank you for coming up with this website and the buttons. What an amazing ministry! It's so simple yet so profound. It's amazing what God does with the little things, huh? I read about this site in the Campus Life's IGNITE YOUR FAITH Magazine. I decided to check it out, perhaps for a bit of personal encouragement. I love it so much it posted it on MySpace with the web address in the bulletin for reference.
It reminded me of the song by KJ-52 called "Daddy's Girl." It's a beautiful rap song that every girl should hear, speaking of how each of us females is beautiful and precious in God's eyes. All that to say that what you say on the website, what you allow girls to read and believe is so healing, so powerful, so real, and desperately needed in this twisted society, in this self-image-centered America. It holds a deep meaning coming from a guy, too. Continue to be the man that God called you to be because we need more men like you who truly believe that love holds the key to leading others to Christ.
Perhaps none of this is new to you, and this is just a rambling 18-year-old female who is in love with her Savior and who loves reading about it; however, I do hope and pray that you will be encouraged by His love. Thank you again for your ministry.
